Dog sled

An unforgettable experience awaits you with an experienced musher and their magnificent dogs. They eagerly await you, ready to run and show you their cherished territory – they are Myriam’s dogs. It’s a unique experience to be had at least once in a lifetime. You’ll be driving your sled with only a few commands to give to your dogs: “djee” for right, “yap” for left, and “en avant!” to encourage them. It’s a noble activity where humans and dogs are proud partners. Just like in the days of trappers and wood runners, you’ll dine in a refuge in the middle of nowhere. If three words were needed to describe this fabulous day, they would be “back to basics”! As dusk settles gently, you and your team return safely to Myriam’s home and then back to the lodge.
In the evening, you can relax in the Nordic baths. This involves unwinding in the sauna, swiftly dipping into the icy waters of the lake, and finally melting away in the hot tub while admiring the northern starry sky. Dinner at the inn and overnight stay.

View details +
Get ready to experience another beautiful journey back to the time of New France. You will depart with your guide on snowshoes to discover our wildlife. Our exclusive territory is teeming with game and animals of all kinds. Don’t forget your camera to capture all these beautiful landscapes and perhaps catch a glimpse of some animals along the way. Your guide will also explain the necessity of trapping, which is to provide balance to the wildlife. They will introduce you to various methods of game capture.
Return to the lodge to visit the ‘4 Printemps’ sugar shack. Indulge in typical Québécois dishes sweetened with the famous maple syrup. You’ll rave about it. Upon your return, take a moment to relax before joining us at the lodge for a hearty evening meal and a restful night’s sleep at Mekoos.

Day 5

Ice fishing, snowmobiling initiation (60 km), and New Year's Eve celebration 2025
View details +
This morning, you are invited to participate in an Inuit tradition activity: ice fishing! To do so, you will head to the large frozen lake just in front of the lodge. Cozy inside your temporary cabin on the ice, you’ll drill a hole in the ice to drop your line and tease the trout.
In the afternoon, your guide will explain safety instructions and how to operate the snowmobiles. You’ll cruise around Mekoos territory on snowmobiles, getting acquainted with your machine. Back at Mekoos, as promised, Sébastien awaits you at the ice bar. The chef prepares a traditional Québécois menu that ends with sweet delights only he knows the secret to. A folk singer will immerse you in a typically Québécois New Year’s Day with call-and-response songs. What an evening!

Day 6
- Mercredi
Snowmobiling (170 km)

Today, we’re heading south and then turning north! Let’s go! Nowhere else will you find a larger frozen expanse than the Kiamika Reservoir. The trail crosses the reservoir, which is 18 km long and 5 km wide. It offers thrilling driving sensations and breathtaking views. Ice and snow have taken over nature to offer you a pure and invigorating spectacle. Wildlife is an integral part of the Quebecois universe.
That’s how you head back towards Chute-Saint-Philippe to admire the largest deer herd in the region. An emotional moment! To recover, head to the restaurant in the village of Chute-Saint-Philippe. Other snowmobilers are already there. Of course! You’re in snowmobiling country! Dinner and overnight at Mekoos.
