This morning, you will join the Gatineau River, which flows into the Baskatong Reservoir. You will thus continue your exploration of this limitless boreal nature. Two words to describe your day: immensely great! On the menu: a stop at the Serpent Falls with its 9 meters height and at the Caesar Falls, a little smaller, but just as magical. See when the power of water challenges the ice!
You will continue the road to the Rabaska Lodge. If we had to describe it, we would say that it is “the place to visit” on the shores of Lake Baskatong. The welcome of Dominique and Martin is warm, they share their joy of living in the middle of nature and at the edge of one of the most beautiful and largest lakes in Quebec. During a dinner and a night at Rabaska, you know right away that happiness, in truth, is simple and easy.
Day 6
- Thursday
Snowmobiling from Rabaska to Mekoos Outfitter (170km)
View details +
You will leave Dominique and Martin to join the Dumoulin family. From one happiness to another, Sébastien is waiting for you tonight at the ice bar with a surprise!
Your raid of the Hautes-Laurentides would be incomplete if you did not visit a must in the region: the Montagne du Diable. It is therefore by snowmobile that you will climb the summit. At that precise moment, we will invite you to turn off the engines and then… complete silence. Here, nature is queen and the view is breathtaking It’s also the most beautiful place to experience Canada’s great outdoors.
Before returning to the hut for dinner, head for the Windigo Falls. Spectacular, these falls never freeze. The day will continue towards the sugar shack for lunch. Indulge your sweet tooth with typical Quebec dishes drizzled with the famous maple syrup. You should give us some news !
In the evening, we will return to the Mekoos outfitter where, as promised, Sébastien is waiting for you at the ice bar. Dinner and night at Mekoos.
Day 7
- Friday
Dog sledding with your Musher
View details +
Before the appearance of the snowmobile, dog sledding was the only winter way to get around in almost inaccessible places. Your musher explains the techniques for driving your team. They await your order “forward” to take you through lakes and forests at the rhythm of their steps.
The excitement of departure then gives way to calm. You will help them on the steeper hills, which creates a beautiful bond between you and man’s best friend. Lunch will be in the forest with a wood fire on the territory of the Mekoos outfitter.
A day under the sign of a return to simple, true elements that make you happy. Dinner and night at Mekoos.
Day 8
